Men fined for underaged sex

Singapore: THREE men aged between 21 and 24 who each had sex with the same underaged girl on separate occasions now have something else in common - a fine of $3,000 apiece.

The court heard that the many liaisons of the girl, then 15, came to light when she went to the police in February 2007 with the allegation that her boyfriend had raped her.

The report was made after a teacher who noticed her swelling belly had confronted her. She admitted being pregnant. She eventually had an abortion.

The court heard that in August 2006, she became intimate with a man she met on an Internet chatline.

Three weeks later, she was having sex with the full-time National Serviceman, then 22, in a Geylang hotel.

After this relationship ended, she moved on to a then-19-year-old whom she also met online.

Barely five days after they became an item, she went to his Bedok flat and had sex with him in his room.

This too, did not work out, and by the end of that year, she had hooked up with the third man, whom she had known since early that year. They had sex in a Geylang hotel in mid-January 2007.

All three men pleaded for leniency.
