GEORGE TOWN: Twenty-two delayed projects in Penang under the Ninth Malaysia Plan will be completed by the end of next year.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop said the implementation of the projects have been stepped up.
“The total amount of the projects cost RM300mil and the majority of them were delayed for less than a year,” he told reporters on Saturday.
“Most of the projects were delayed due to land status complications and having to replace some of the contractors.
He added the projects will be completed by Dec 31 next year which is the end of the Ninth Malaysia Plan.
Nor Mohamed said since mid-2009, preparations have been underway for the Tenth Malaysia Plan.
He added there were only two such economic plans until 2020 and both would focused on achieving Vision 2020.
